1st Novel Procrastination

A lot of us talk about writing a book but then we don't get it done. We might have lots of ideas but we never get those ideas down on paper. Maybe it's because we're too busy or maybe it's because we don't make time. I feel like it sometimes a little bit of both. Other times I just think I might be procrastinating or possibly scared to start. I know that I'm not the only one. It takes a lot of work and a lot of time and even more planning. I feel like if I get the planning part of writing a novel out of the way then piecing it all together will come naturally. So to all those artist and writers out there who are trying to finish creative projects, just work on it a little everyday and eventually you'll finish your work.

What I Think About my First Novel

I have always wanted to write a book about something that is interesting to me. There are so many things to write about that I always have trouble figuring out what is just right for me. I want the first book that I publish to be amazing. I am starting to realize that it might not be the best but at least it's something. I understand that my writing has improved over time and that I have no experience writing books or novels. I have to start somewhere and I understand now that my first book might not be a bestseller but it is a place to start. I have no problem blogging about what I think but when it comes to something more intensive like a novel. That's where things are going to get tricky for me and my short attention span. If you never try you will never know. That's why I am at least going to try and write a novel and I am going to try and get published. There is no harm in trying and that is what I am going to do. I try and write a little something everyday regardless of what it is. I journal and write articles which are great but books are something that I would like to move onto. I want bigger and better things for myself and I have to start somewhere. I think that with all of the other writers that I have met online I wont have a problem finding anyone to bounce ideas off of. Since I have joined writing.com I have many people waiting to review the little things that I have to write regardless of what it is. I love being apart of a community online with it's own little culture. All willing to help and all able to give constructive criticism. My writing right now is not where it should be and I really need to improve. Even if I don't get published I will be satisfied with the fact that I tried to write a novel and that is more than a lot of the people I know have done. I so want to make a difference somehow I just don't know how yet. I like to think of it this way; as long as I am making progress I am happy because it's not about perfection.

Gulf Shores Alabama

Gulf Shores Alabama is a coastal city with beautiful white-sand beaches and plenty of restaurants to eat seafood. The community of people in this area are very welcoming. Gulf Shores is the perfect place to relax, it puts you in a different state of mind. I would have never thought that such beautiful beaches would be found here in Alabama. There are all sorts of attractions like golf and watersports sports as well as the zip lines and deep sea fishing. Gulf Shores has such a unique culture snug between New Orleans, Louisiana and Tallahassee, Florida. The beaches are often referred to as sugar white and everything is reasonably priced.

New Orleans

There's nothing like the city of New Orleans because it has a spirit of its own. There is a dark side to New Orleans that a lot of people all around the country tend to relate to. The music here is unbelievable, there is nothing like that brass sound. Not only is the music bluesy and sultry and makes you feel like you're a part of something but the food makes you feel just as comfortable. New Orleans has a unique atmosphere and I've never been anywhere quite like the home of the saints. This city is full of artist and creative people. People doing art in the streets and sharing art with each other. There's a sense of community here where people have come together to help each other even when they don't have very much to give. Mardi Gras is a special time of year for all of the locals here in New Orleans and tourist from all over the world come to experience it. Everyone is sharing beads and trinkets colored gold green and purple. Everything seems to have some symbolism and meaning. I can't wait to come back and visit.

A little about the post Coffee on Writing.Com

Coffee - Writing.Com
I don't normally write poems and this was just something off the top of my head. I didn't put to much thought into it because it's just a post about coffee. I love coffee but I am not the type of person that wakes up and need to have a cup. I hope that I will never be that dependent on anything. Regardless this post was my first poem I have been able to contribute to www.writing.com and I am happy that I did so. There is nothing like being a little creative everyday in someway. It might not be a big accomplishment but this is an accomplishment to me and that's all that is important. As long as I am happy with me nothing else should matter.

How I feel about the post; Positive Energy on Writing.Com and a few other thoughts I have

Positive Energy - Writing.Com

This is a little writing that I have posted on Writing.com. I actually don't feel very confident about this post. I try and write a little something everyday but you and I both know that, that isn't going to happen. I feel like I have so much to do all that time and when I try and make time for myself I fail. Unless that time is for sleeping but I would like to be awake and productive instead of dead to the world. I love listening to music and writing whatever it is that I have on my mind but lately I have had other things on my mind other than writing and enjoying myself. I need to figure out how to relax and just let somethings be. I am all about letting people and things be but as of late like I said I've been having a little trouble. I suppose I need to worry more about myself and let others do their things. It's not like I can do anything about how other people live their lives. They are going to do what they want and I am going to either watch them do whatever it is or ignore it and do me.

High Sales on Green Wednesday

I just submitted this article I wrote to www.DivineCaroline.com (http://www.divinecaroline.com/users/victoria-odonnell-0) I am interested in what you have to say about this particular topic and to start a duscussion about it. It is going to take a few days to be reviewed by www.DivineCaroline.com and hopefully accepted but let me know what you think now. I actually don't think that they are going to accept this article because of the fact that it is nearly taboo to talk about this. There is so much to say about this topic lately because of all the changes in the laws and I personally am wondering what the federal government is going to do next as well as what states are going to follow.

"People are calling it Green Wednesday because of the high sales of recreational marijuana all across Colorado. It's said that they made over $1 million dollars and in Perth, Australia, headlines are saying, "Move Over Amsterdam." With no Doctor's note necessary people from all over the state flocked to wait in line for hours. There is no better feeling than to be alive during a change like this. I love to compare this type of historic change to the prohibition on alcohol. There are so many similarities. The people want this and not many are fighting against this. From what I have observed it seems that the people who are fighting against this either don't know much about the plant or they are in a position of power and this type of change is not going to benefit them. It's also good to know that people who are under the age of 21 are not allowed to buy this chronic goodness. In my opinion I think that just like alcoholic drinks and cigarettes people who are under the age limit are going to try to find a way to get their hands on it. I agree that it needs to be regulated but not ban from total use. The places selling the stuff have made so much money that they are having concerns with how to handle all of it! I was reading an article on the huffington post which I will leave a link to that says,"Owners in the city expressed concern about taking in large amount of cash, since federal banking regulations currently prohibit banks from working with the marijuana industry while the drug remains classified as illegal by the federal government." This is insane! I am very happy to see that the federal government is going to have to take action very soon and not only because I know that they are going to want a piece of the pie but because these places need to be able to have bank accounts! I can't wait to see this drug war end. All of the money and the people spent on the drug war is horrid. This is a welcome change by many in my generation. I am happy to see this happen in my lifetime."
